13 The Priest Lake Trails App is a high tech collaboration between the Priest Lake Chamber of Commerce and Cody Edwards of Touch Designs Interactive Travel Guides. It is a modern navigational tool for adventure seekers coming to Priest Lake for the first time or the hundredth time that allows users to quickly find the perfect route to a one-of- a-kind Priest Lake experience. Once downloaded via the link provided on the Priest Lake Chamber of Commerce website - priestlake.org or popular App stores it can be taken on outings via a smart phone or other compatible portable electronic device. When in WiFi range you can also access real time features such as avalanche updates and current weather conditions as well as link back to the Chambers website where you can find local food lodging area attractions and other Priest Lake information. The first phase of the project spearheaded by the Chambers marketing coordinator Teri Hill was to map out and categorize some of the areas best snowmobile trails. For this and the hiking section of the project Hill enlisted the help of several groups that make the Priest Lake trails system one of the best in the Northwest. Priest Lake Groomers Associations Mike Courteau and Craig Hill were especially helpful with their hands-on experience and extensive knowledge of the trail system. Courteau and Hill provided information for locating the routes and destinations and their accessibility along with grading the experience levels needed. With a simple click you can search for an outing for the whole family on Family Trails or one with Great Views or for the adventurous types find the best High Ridges all from the comfort of your home or on the fly for a spur of the moment outing. The fall of 2015 saw the release of Phase Two of the project the Hiking Trails section. With helpful information provided by the Idaho Dept. of Lands and access to the US Forest Service websites Hill and Edwards were again able to create an incredible resource for hikers and incorporate it into the snowmobiling App forming a complete interactive all-season site. The hiking trails are sorted by degree of difficulty easymoderate and difficult. Check with local agencies for any recent closures. Whether its a simple walk in the woods access to great fishing or hunting spots mushroom and huckleberry-picking a strenuous bike climb or ripping up a snow-covered mountainside you hunger for the Priest Lake Trails system provides something for everyone year-round.
