EveryoneLoves a Parade Over Memorial Day weekend each year since 1963 the communities around Priest Lake come together to show off our Crown Jewel by way of the Priest Lake Spring Festival. One of the most enjoyed events during the festival is the Saturday Coolin Days Parade which had its origin in 1979 Good Ole Days sponsored by the Priest Lake Chamber of Commerce. It included a flotilla of boats which brought parade entries across the lake from Elkins Resort to Coolin. Back then we had over 30 entries including lots of kids marching clowns fire trucks a Grand Marshal Tom Moar and a Miss Spring Festival Michelle Rainey. Since then weve had themes of Old Priest Lake Days Kids on Parade Old Timers An Outbreak of Spring Spring Fling Proud of our Past Looking Forward to our Future United We Stand Proud to be an American Priest Lake America Americas Album of Priest Lake Ties That Bind Family Friends Frolic Wild Things Viewpoints of Priest Lake Priest Lake Feel the Magic Enchanting Priest Lake Come Home to Priest Lake and Priest Lake Memories. The 2016 Coolin Parade theme is The Four Seasons and it starts at noon on Saturday May 28 with staging at Coolin Park then passing down Cavanaugh Bay Road and Bay View Road past the Leonard Paul Store and Bishops Marina. It turns around and heads back to the park so you can view it again. We have a viewing platform for the judges and announcer near the store and plaques are awarded to the winners in categories such as Best Overall Fabulous Float Awesome Auto Unusually Unique Top Theme Interesting Individual Nifty Neighborhood Priest Lake Kids and the Judges Choice. So come on down to the lake over Memorial Day weekend to enjoy the Priest Lake Spring Festival now sponsored by the Coolin Civic Organization. Besides our parade there are a lot of other great things to do and see.
