Priest Lake Public Library Bear Time With Aubrey

Bear Time with Aubrey!
hosted by Aubrey LaBarre
They’re big, they’re bold, they’re un-BEAR-ably cute… they’re bears! Come learn about Priest Lake’s largest and furriest residents before they’re off to hibernate for the winter!
Aubrey LaBarre (pronounced La-BAR, but she wishes it was La-BEAR) is a grizzly bear technician working with the University of Montana and US Fish & Wildlife, and she has been assisting with tracking the movement of the Selkirk’s grizzly bear population throughout the summer. We may also be joined by Amber Kornak, Bear Management Specialist with ID Fish and Game!

Aubrey’s here to teach what she’s learned, show some exclusive photos of bears in the wild, and answer kids’ (and adults’) questions about bears. What’s the difference between a black bear and a grizzly bear? What do bears like to eat? How big can bears get? What should you do if you see a bear on the trail?

All that and more will be answered at this program! Geared towards elementary school-aged children, but any curious patrons are more than welcome to stop by.

It’s gonna be PAW-some!
